3 Oct-Bhaktapur: Leaders of the CPN-Maoist, the party objecting to the election, have filed candidacies for first-past-the-post election to the Constituent Assembly from both constituencies of Bhaktapur district on Thursday.

Shri Krishna Sulu filed independent candidacy from constituency no. 1 while Tek Prasad Uprety from constituency no. 2 of the district.

Both of them are the state committee members of the CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya, who has been advocating against November 19 CA elections.

When asked about his party policy and his candidacy filing, leader Sulu said, “Although my party has adopted the policy of election boycott throughout the country. I’ve used my personal rights to file candidacy as an independent leader.”

He further said the party policy has only affected the villages but has no effect in the cities, so, it was his fundamental right to become independent candidate.

However, both Sulu and Uprety said they have not quit the party. RSS
