19 Oct, Rautahat:

Leader of the CPN (UML) and former Prime Minister, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said that the doubts that have been expressed in Tarai-Madhes are natural after political parties including CPN (UML) failed to make people known about the federalism and delineation of federal states in a right way.

At a greeting exchange programme and tea reception organised on the occasion Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festival by CPN (UML) Chandrapur Town Committee and Rautahat-Kathmandu Contact Forum today, leader Nepal clarified that there was no meaning of protesting the new constitution as it has incorporated special rights of Madhes.

Stating that the ongoing agitation in various southern plains would be resolved through talks, he urged the agitating Madeshi leaders to come on board with a clear outlines.

As for the newly promulgated constitution, leader Nepal, also former Prime Minister, was of the opinion that it was the best one in the world.

He argued that it was futile to decry that the new constitution did not secured the rights of people of all caste and creed as it had ensured the rights for one and all Nepalis.

Leader Nepal said, “The agitation should be ended. The public had to bear the brunt of the agitation. The Madhes-centric political parties should not create further scene.”

He held the view the incumbent government should assume its responsibilities with honesty and integrity.

Present at the programme were parliamentarian Ram Kumar Bhattarai and leaders of CPN (UML). RSS
