NRN-conferenceKathmandu, Oct. 22: The sixth Non-resident Nepalis  (NRN) Global Conference concluded here on Tuesday with a 14-point declaration.

 

The declaration appeals to all the political parties in Nepal to hold the  November 19 CA elections in a peaceful manner and draft a constitution that carries the internationally recognized democratic norms and values.

 

The NRN Association has, in the declaration, thanked the Government of Nepal for validating the Association by formally registering it and expressed happiness for initiating joint investment of the NRNs in the 27 mega watt hydropower project at the Dordi river of Lamjung.

 

Expressing the commitment to support use of the remittance sent by Nepalis in foreign employment in the productive sector, the Association has expressed the confidence that the new constitution would guarantee the continuity of the Nepali citizenship of the NRNs on the basis of norm reading ‘Once a Nepal, Always a Nepali’.

Likewise, commitment has been expressed in the Declaration to set up relief fund to support the people in foreign employment, who face any problem including accidents, and to their families.

 

The Association has also expressed the commitment to continue Nepal and Nepali products promotion initiatives including among others by organizing Nepali fair and Nepal ‘house’ construction. RSS
