22 Feb, Kathmandu: The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament has been postponed for 3 pm tomorrow.

The parliament meeting convened after a long hiatus was put off on Tuesday also.

The House meetings have remained stalled of late due to the dispute among the major parties regarding which should take precedent – constitution amendment or the announcement of the election date.

Although the government has announced the date for the local elections, the House meeting today was stalled as the main opposition party, the CPN (UML), stuck to its stance that the constitution amendment proposal should not be moved ahead until the United Democratic Madhesi Front gives its commitment to accept whatever the outcome once the proposal is put to a vote in the parliament.

The Parliament Secretariat issued a notice informing about the postponement of the House meeting citing special reason.
