12 Oct, Tilottama: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairperson Kamal Thapa has said his party’s support to the government led by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba was for its continuity.

Speaking at a face-to-face programme organised by the Reporters’ Club Nepal in Butwal Wednesday, he said the party decided to back the incumbent government for the guarantee of the elections. “The Prime Minister is committed to holding the elections of the federal and provincial parliaments within the scheduled time,” he added.

In his view, the formation of the leftist alliance was for pushing the government to risk. According to him, the NC and other democratic forces would have an equation for the election for unity among democratic forces. The issue of sharing seats in the elections is yet to be finalised.

He urged all not to believe the rumour that RPP parties would merge. He was of the opinion of organising a referendum on the matter of Hindu nation after the elections.
