Sanjay_DuttKathmandu: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt will move to the Supreme Court by filing a review petition against its March 21 judgment. Sanjay Dutt was guilty underneath the Arms Act for his role in the 1993 city bombings and illicitly possessing weapons.
The petition can most likely be filed during a day or 2. If the plea is suspended, a curative petition may also be filed.
On March 21, the Supreme Court sent Dutt to 5 years in jail. He was given four weeks to surrender.
The actor had been awarded six years imprisonment by the TADA (Terrorists and troubled Activities (Prevention) Act) court.
However, the Supreme Court reduced the sentence from six years to 5 years. This effectively implies that Dutt will be in jail for 3 years and 6 months as he has already undergone 18 months imprisonment.
