11 May, Kathmandu: The political parties are asked not to make publicity of their election candidates once the silent period begins. The silent period begins from Thursday night for the first round of local level election being held on May 14.

Issuing a press release on Wednesday, the Election Commission, made aware the political parties that they were prohibited to make publicity for and against any party/candidates in the silent period.

The Spokesperson of the EC, Surya Prasad Sharma, reminded that section 69 of the Local Level Election Directive 2073 prohibits the election campaigning.
