7 June, Kathmandu: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Surya Bahadur Thapa resigned from the post at the party central committee (CC) meeting today.Pashupati Shumsher Rana is expected to be the party chairman from the party cc meeting.
The RPP leaders have sharply divided after senior leader Lokendra Bahadur Chand captured the party office, announcing himself as the party chairman with the backing from senior leader Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani and lawmaker Bikram Pandey.
However, the leaders close to Chand and Lohani have boycotted the CC meeting.
