19 April, Waling: The Syangja district is gearing up for the local polls slated for May 14 with total number of voters standing at 191,253.

The number of women voters is 12,164 more than the men voters’ population. Under Syangja’s newly revamped structure with five municipalities and six village councils, the number of women voters stand at 101,708 while the number of men voters is 89,544 along with one transgender.

A total of 19 political parties are jumping into the fray in which eight represent the parliament while the rest are outsiders.

Syangja – which had 189 polling stations in the second Constituent Assembly (CA) elections – will now have 10 more bringing the number to 199. RSS
