13 August, Kathmandu: Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted heavy rainfall in most parts of Terai and some parts of hills from Wednesday night to Saturday.

Experts have alerted to stay cautious as heavy rain can cause landslides and inundation.

Weather expert at the Division, Shanti Kandel, informed that as atmospheric system that causes rainfall is nearing Nepal, there is possibility of heavy rainfall.

“There is possibility of heavy rainfall from Wednesday to Saturday in eastern and western part of the country,” she said, according to the news report published in the Nagarik daily.

As the heavy and incessant rainfall causes landslides and inundation, the Division has already informed the Home Ministry about this urging to remain alert.

“The monsoon trough is north of it’s normal position. so, the rainfall activities throughout the country is likely to be increased for a couple of days. Chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of the eastern and western regions of the country,” a statement in the Division’s website read.
