22 Feb, Kathmandu: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has instructed his party’s parliamentarians to present themselves in the Parliament responsibly.

At a joint meeting of the parliamentary party and parliamentary department held at Legislature-Parliament at New Baneshwar today, UML Chair Oli instructed so in light of the recently proposed local body election on May 14 this year.

UML, the major opposition party, although has been voicing its disagreement with the constitution amendment bill registered in the Parliament on November 29, 2016, has pledged its cooperation to the government for holding the long overdue election, UML parliamentarian Rewati Raman quoted leader Oli as saying in the meeting.

Oli, terming the constitution bill as unconstitutional one, shared that the UML will draw the conclusions on how it will be present in the parliament after it holds meeting with eight other parties subscribing the similar views on the constitution amendment bill.

The former Prime Minister said, “We will lend unconditional support to the government for the local body election, which is our sole demand. The election must be held on May 14.”

The meeting has also decided to assign its cadres and leaders to make its Mechi-Mahakali Campaign a success. RSS
