4 Oct-Kathmandu: CPN-UML has condemned the attack against its candidate for Constituent Assembly (CA) election in Bara District Constituency No. 4, Mahammud Alam, at Chawaswoti Mill Area at 11.30 this morning.
Some unidentified people on a motorcycle opened fired at Alam leaving him seriously injured.
Issuing a press release here on Friday, Party Chairperson Jhalanath Khanal demanded the government to immediately bring the guilty to book and put in place necessary security arrangements to hold the election in a peaceful manner.
Meanwhile, Nepali Congress has also condemned the incident terming it an ill-attempt to bring the country to further crisis by creating hurdles in the run-up to the CA election. RSS
