21 April, Kathmandu: United Nations representatives from various countries today called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachandra’ at latter’s official residence in Baluwatar.

The meeting is said to have dwelt on various issues including current development situation and under-construction development projects initiated with UN involvement.

During the meeting, PM Dahal informed that preparations have been made for the May 14 local level elections, it has been said.

Noting the incumbent government was making efforts for enforcing the new constitution, concluding peace process, boosting economic prosperity and reconstruction, PM Dahal said UN’s assistance and cooperation were needed toward that end.

The PM also thanked the delegates for UN’s ‘crucial’ assistance for Nepal’s peace process and development projects.

In response, saying under-construction development projects initiated with the involvement of the UN agencies had made progress, the delegates said initiatives would be taken for additional assistance.

Those UN representatives include Executive President of United Nations Children’s Fund Walton Alfonso Webson and Permanent Representative of the UAE Lana Nusseibeh. RSS
