The study and monitoring team, deputed by the government to carry out on-site inspection and distribute reliefs to the snowfall victims of different areas of Gorkha district including aprak, Barpak and Guruda, has returned home after reaching Laprak.

A four-member government team returned Kathmandu from Rinjilung of Laprak after not reaching Gupsipakha.

The government team comprising Joint-Secretary at Home Ministry Rameswor Dangal, Under-Secretary Baburam Bhandari, Nepal Army Colonel and a doctor returned after reaching Laprak, said Chief District Officer of Gorkha, Uddhav Prasad Timilsina.
“The team obtained necessary information about the situation after snowfall”, CDO Timilsina said, adding, “The team returned Kathmandu after being unable to fly to Barpak due to smoggy weather condition”.

The Laprak folks had urged the government team to immediately begin with the works of constructing permanent houses in quake-ravaged area.

Some 617 households of Laprak have been residing under the temporary tents in Gupsipakha following the April 25 earthquake.
