Kathmandu, Nov. 13: A report on state of violation of the election code of conduct reveals that the bigger political parties are ahead in violating the conduct.

Citizens Campaign for Fair Election (CCFE) in a report made public on Wednesday says that as many as 521 incidents of electoral code violations occurred during the period of 25 days in the Nepali month of Kartik (mid-October to mid-November).

The three major political parties apart from the poll-opposing CPN-Maoist were found more involved in the violation of electoral code of conduct.

According to details of code violation incidents collected through 75 districts, CPN-Maoist topped the list with 136 followed by Unified CPN (Maoist) 112, Nepali Congress 81 and CPN-UML 53.

The UCPN (Maoist) and CPN-UML are found largely involved in code violation incidents in Dhading while Nepali Congress is ahead in Bajura district. Bardiya has witnessed the highest number of code breaching, says the report.

On the occasion, it was shared that the Campaign will observe election in 300 polling centres in 11 districts of the country. RSS
