6 July, Taplejung: Taplegjung, a mountainous district in the eastern Nepal, is hosting the Pathibhara Gold Cup Football Tournament from upcoming August 7.
The tournament that is being organised since the 2029 BS on the occasion of the Lakhejatra, the cultural festival, will kick off from the day of Janai Purnima, according to the Taplejung District Football Association.
The match will be held in both men’s and women’s category.
A team winning the title in the men’s category will go home with cash prize of Rs 151 thousand while a team becoming the first runner- up will be awarded Rs 111 thousand. Likewise, a team becoming victorious in women’s category will receive Rs 51 thousand and a first runner-up will be awarded Rs 31 thousand, according to the organiser.
Football teams from Jhapa, Morang, Ilam, Sunsari, Panchthar, departmental teams and also from India and Bhutan will be invited for the match as in the past. RSS
