Biratnagar, Nov. 11: CPN (UML) leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari has said that allocating seats in the Constituent Assembly to the CPN-Maoist and the 33-party alliance led by it would be unconstitutional and nobody has the authority to do so.

Talking to media persons here on Sunday, Adhikari said that the CA seats could be apportioned to the CPN-Maoist and the 33-party alliance only through a constitutional decision to be made by the major parties and the CPN-Maoist after the CA election.

Adhikari was referring to the talks that were doing rounds recently that the UCPN (Maoist) chairman has proposed to allocate 26 CA seats to the CPN-Maoist and 90 seats to the 33-party alliance, which are opposing the November 19 CA election, in a bid to bring them on board.

He said the people would retaliate against the general strike enforced by the poll-opposing parties as the people are for holding the election. RSS
