14 August, Gorkha Bazaar: British Ambassador to Nepal John Rankin has pledged help for rebuilding tourism of Barkpark, the epicenter of the April 25 earthquake in the Gorkha district.

Ambassador Rankin Thursday visited Barpak and held interactions with the Barpark survivals. On the occasion, the Barpak locals stressed that the British assistance was essential to revitalise local tourism suffered by the powerful earthquake.

The British Ambassador was here to take stock of post-disaster challenges facing the Barpark people.

After Barpark, Ambassador’s team reached Laprak, the other village in Gorkha hit hard by the quake, according to Chief District Officer Uddhav Timilsina.

During his visit to both villages, the Ambassador promised to join hands with the villages for the rebuild of their localities, it is learnt. RSS
