ciaa24 August, KATHMANUD: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, the corruption watch-dog body, arrested 35 officials of Department of Immigration and Department of Foreign Employment on graft charges on Friday.  The anti-graft constitutional body arrested 18 officials from DoI and 17 from DoFE in charge of being involved in issuing illegal labour approval for migrant workers by accepting bribe,

“The CIAA move was based on the information provided by the DoFE officials who were arrested on August 20,” Spokesperson for CIAA Shreedhar Sapkota said.

Arrested DoFE officials are Nirmala Neupane, Manju Sharma Subedi, Ajita Sharma, Mukti Prasad Khanal, Ganga Bahadur Bhujel, Gyanendra Sharma, Pabitra Kunwar, Hiradhoj Karki, Shankar Karki, Ramesh Kumar Adhikari, Yogendra Kumar Adhikari, Madhav Bhattarai, Keshav Banjara, Santosh Subedi, Krishna Prasad Khatiwoda, Raj Ullah, and office assistant Yasodha Thapa Magar

Similarly, DoI officials are Bhoj Bahadur Aidee, Ram Chandra Karki, Nara Bahadur BK, Ram Krishna Parajuli, Dilli Ram Bhattarai, Diwakar Sharma, Gopi Prasad Paudel, Ram Chandra Khatiwoda, Kamal Bahadur Karki, Bikram Bahadur Somai, Babuhari Panthi, Ram Kumar Ojha, Jaya Bahadur Singh, Lilaram Pokhrel, Sanjaya Nepal, Nawaraj Koirala, Ram Prasad Marasini,  and Chiranjiwi Adhikari.

Of the 77 labourers who obtained labour approval last year, 34 are now abroad.
