17, June, Damauli:

Nepali Congress Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel has said that five different projects were essential in order to rebuild the infrastructures destroyed in the April 25 Gorkha earthquake.

The reconstruction effort will be effective only if there are separate plans for the school, archaeological sites, the urban centres, government offices and the village settlements, he added.

Speaking at a face-to-face organized by the Reporters Club here this morning, he also said houses now to be built should be safe, healthy, well facilitated, small and stable.

On a different note, the NC Vice-president also said that election will be held in all five major posts including the President, the Vice-president, the Prime Minister, Speaker and deputy Speaker following the promulgation of the new constitution. “Making UML Chair KP Oli the next Prime Minister is just a market rumour, as no such discussion has been held”, he said.

Likewise, in response to a query of whether he would be standing for the post of party president in the upcoming 13th general convention, NC leader Poudel just said that he would share about it only after making necessary preparations for the same. RSS
