18 May, Banepa:

A fuel station owner has been arrested for swindling customers in Kavrepalanchowk of more than a million rupees.

The District Court Kavrepalanchowk issued an order to keep Dhanshyam Khatri, owner of Narayan Oil Store, in custody for interrogations.

Khatri had been on the run for a long time before his arrest. The government’s monitoring team has come across at least six petrol pump dealers for cheating customers by manipulating the amount of oil discharged through an auxiliary machine fitted to the fuel dispenser.

The District Police Office has filed cases of fraud and black marketeering against all owners of the six fuel stations.

Khatri had cheated customers of more than Rs 1.1 million from June 19, 2015 to November 26, 2015. RSS
