Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi has said amending the constitution and conducting the election are the current needs of the country and the government is primarily focused on these agenda.

“The government plans to table a proposal before the House seeking an amendment to the constitution by mid November”, he said. The disputed issues relating to the citizenship, boundaries of provinces and formation of the National Assembly are needed to be sorted out through the constitution amendment.

The government is expected to seek the ground for addressing the citizenship issue being based on the interim constitution, he said while speaking at a press meet organised by Nepal Press Union here today. He directed the chiefs of district-based government offices to carry out public works promptly. RSS
