Kathmandu, Nov. The bandh announced by some anti-election political parties did not have any affect on Wednesday, thanks to the intensive mobilization of security force and the voluntary disobedience of the strike by the general public including the industrialists and businessmen.

 

Industries and factories, the market and public service including transportation continued today bringing daily people’s life to normalcy, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs here this evening.

 

The bandh enforcers meanwhile resorted to vandalism and arson on vehicles in 14 different locations in Chitwan, Sarlahi, Nawalparasi, Lamjung, Gorkha, Kathmandu, Syangja, Udayapur, Kailali and Kavre districts.

 

In course of the 51 incidents that took place in various parts of the country, 29 people were arrested on the charge of indulging in such acts, adds the statement.

 

In Kathmandu, nine passengers including a child were injured when a petrol bomb was hurled at a micro-bus at Gongobu of Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon.

 

Condemning the incidents of arson and IED explosions carried out targeting public transport vehicles and individuals, the Home Ministry has said investigation is underway to find those behind such incidents and stern action would be taken against them. RSS
