Today’s meeting of the Legislature-Parliament has been postponed due to disruption of lawmakers of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) and Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP).

Lawmakers of the UDMF chanted slogan near rostrum while NWPP lawmakers from their seats soon after Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar announced of providing time to Nepali Congress leader Farmullah Mansur to express his view after NC and Madhes-based political parties protested in the beginning of the meeting.

Lawmakers associated with UDMF had chanted slogan demanding stopping ‘government interference’ in ongoing Madhes agitation while NWPP lawmakers asked to stop Indian interference including border blockade.

Speaker Gharti urged all the lawmakers time and again to take their respective seats and she announced postponement of today’s meeting after the lawmakers denied taking their respective seats.

Speaker Gharti was scheduled to read the letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in today’s meeting.

The next meeting of the parliament has been scheduled at 1:00 pm on December 6. RSS
