8 July, KATHMANDU: Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid is has decided to cut his visit short. Khurshid who is landing in Kathmandu tomorrow is returning to New Delhi the same day without visiting former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

 

The former prime minister and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Prachanda is in Singapore trip for his wife Sita’s treatment.

Khurshid is likely to return to India at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Earlier, Khurshid was scheduled to stay two day in Nepal and hold talks with the President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Chairman of the Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi and top leaders of major political parties before his departure on Wednesday.

During his visit to Nepal, the Indian External Affairs Minister would express Indian government’s solidarity to Nepal’s upcoming CA election.
