Sushil Koirala talking to Press at TIA

9 August, Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, returned home on Friday concluding a six-day long India visit. Talking briefly to media persons upon his arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), he said that the Constituent Assembly (CA) election will be held on the stipulated date at any cost.

Koirala further said that India also wishes successful election and will help Nepal establish peace, stability and democracy. He said he assured the Indian leadership that the CA polls will be held under any circumstances, even if the poll-opposing parties did not participate in it.

Koirala also termed his visit to India as “successful and fruitful.” During his New Delhi stay he met Indian Prime Minister Dr Man Mohan Singh, chairperson of the ruling UPA Sonia Gandhi, Indian Minister of External Affairs Salman Khurshid including opposition leaders and influential politicians among others.

The NC president, who had embarked on the trip on Sunday, was accompanied by his two general secretaries – Prakash Man Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitaula.
