Kathmandu, Jan. 18: Leaders of various political parties have expressed the committment to ensure representation of the disabled population in the constituent assembly (CA) as per their skills and capacity.

Speaking at a programme organized by the National Disabled Federation Nepal in the capital on Friday, leaders of the major political parties pledged to represent people with disabilities in the CA.

On the occasion, Nepali Congress central committee member Arjun Narsing KC said that to form a national consensus government, disabled people should be nominated in the remaining 26 seats to the constituent assembly.

Likewise, CPN (UML) alternative central committee member Gokul Gharti Magar said that disabled people should be part of the CA to ensure their rights in the new constitution. RSS
