10 Oct, Kathmandu: Nepali Congress has extended deep sorrow over the demise of its former parliamentarian and litterateur Jagadish Shumsher JB Rana.

Issuing a press release today, the NC also wished for eternal peace to the departed soul. The statement issued by NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel also extended condolence to the bereaved family.

Rana passed away at Chandigarh of India on Monday. He was 88. Born at Babarmahal of Kathmandu, late Rana had started his political career from Gorkha Council.

He became a member of the National Assembly from the Nepali Congress in 2050 BS. Rana was also active in literature field. Narsingh Awatar’ is his one of the creation. He was also honoured with Madan Puraskar.
