15 August, Pokhara: Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and party’s General Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister Prakashman Singh on Saturday paid last tribute to party leader Ramji Poudel ‘Badal’, who was murdered at Gagangaunda of Lekhnath Municipality on Thursday.

Irrigation Minister Narayan Prakash Saud, Constituent Assembly member Chandra Bhandari, Yagya Bahadur Thapa, Kamal Pangeni among hundreds of NC activists also paid tributes to Poudel, whose body was kept at the NC Kaski party office.

Addressing the tribute programme, leader Deuba said the party remained determined on administering a stringent and harshest punishment to those involved in killing Poudel, whom he termed as the one of party’s dedicated activists.

Poudel was a stalwart of the democratic movements, he said while extending condolences to the bereaved family members and praying for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Similarly, DPM Singh said the party and the government was determined in bringing the perpetrators to book. He said the government would launch an investigation to find facts related to the crime and take stringent action against the killers.

The NC leaders and lawmakers also visited late Poudel’s house and extended condolences to his wife Chandra Kala Poudel, daughter and kin.

Poudel was cremated on the bank of the Seti River on Saturday itself. RSS
