20 March, Bhaktapur: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the local-level election announced for May 14 this year is certain.

Addressing a programme organised to mark the seventh death anniversary of party former president Girija Prasad Koirala at Lokanthali, Bhaktapur, the former Prime Minister urged party cadres and all not doubt whether the election would be hold.

He claimed the country would see a constitutional crisis if the election schedule was not implemented which, according to him, would put democracy in peril.

“There is no doubt over the plan of conducting the local poll. It is sure and certain,” the NC president said
We had been left with no option to going for the election, he said, directing party cadres to gear up for this.

“Conspiracies are being hatched to break the unity among the people of mountain, hill and Tarai,” Deuba said, underlining the need of making the local poll election successful to overcome such plan.

Also speaking on the occasion, NC lawmakers Rameshwor Dhungel and Manmohan Bhattarai, central member Madhu Acharya and NC Bhaktapur district president Durlabh Thapa were of the view of ending the culture of groupism existing within the party to win the election.
