27 June, Kathmandu: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana has floated a six-point reconciliation proposal before dissenting party leader Lokendra Bahadur Chand.

As per the proposal, leader Chand would be announced party senior leader while Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani would be given the responsibility of party organization and monitoring. Likewise, 20 per cent seats would be allocated to the Chand faction in allcentral-level bodies of the party, a source said

Pashupati Shumsher JBR.

Similarly, a system would be developed to ensure presence of all top leaders of the party in the mass meetings to be held in five development regions of the country to disseminate the message of reconciliation in the party.

However, the proposal has also cautioned to take disciplinary action to make the party disciplined and systematic if the proposal was not implemented. The party establishment faction has expected to get the response of the proposal from the Chand faction by 29 June.

The party establishment faction has given responsibility to Roshan Karki and Hemjung Gurung and Chand faction’s Durga Shrestha and Maheshwor Rokka for the talks to resolve the intra-feud in the party.

The disputes in the RPP escalated after leader Chand announced himself the party chairman after Surya Bahadur Thapa’s term expired a month ago. But, the recent central committee meeting of the party termed Chand’s step unconstitutional and selected Rana as the party head.
