The Cinema Circle Nepal conferred the LG Film Award on various cine-artists under 21 categories amidst a programme on Wednesday.

During a programme organized Wednesday evening, ‘Pashupati Prasad’ was declared the best film of the year.

Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Bollywood actor and Indian Loksabha member Shatrughan Sinha, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, Chairman of Chaudhary Group, Binod Chaudhary, and others conferred on the awards on different persons.

It was announced in the programme that the best director was Dipendra K Khanal, while best actor Dayahang Rai, and best actress Namrata Shrestha. Similarly, Anamol KC and Rekha Thapa got the award as popular actor and popular actress respectively.

On the occasion, Vice-President Pun said he has realized that Nepal too has now become able to produce commercial films. “Some films in the past contributed to social change,” he added.
