Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said he would take whatever initiatives he can from his side to make Thawang village in Rolpa as the centre of the new Village Governance Body.

The Prime Minister said so in a meeting this evening with a 15-member delegation from Thawang including the local communist leader Barman Budha.

PM Dahal said in the contest of the Local Body Restructuring Committee carrying out its works, the matter regarding making Thawang as the administrative centre of a Municipality would be settled after holding discussions with the parties.

The delegation also on the occasion handed over a memorandum to the Prime Minister which calls for forming a single Gaonpalika (village governance body) by combining Thawang, Jelbang, Kureli, Mirul, Uwa and Sheram VDCs of Rolpa district.

Communist leader Budha, in the meeting with the PM, underscored the need of turning Thawang into a centre of the new Village Governance Body even to further identify Thawang, the centre of the People’s War waged by the then CPN (Maoist). RSS
