There have been clashes between police and the cadres of the agitating Madhesh-centric parties in different parts of Birgunj city from early morning today.
The agitators, defying the curfew order have demonstrated in various places and vandalized public properties as well.
Two agitating persons have sustained injuries after police opened fire to contain the situation. The District Police Office, Parsa, said that Dipesh Patel and Sandip Patel were hurt in the clash at Gandak Chowk.
The injured are receiving treatment at Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, Birgunj. The District Administration Office, Parsa has clamped curfew in the two effective from 4 pm on Monday until further notice.
A large number of security personnel are mobilized to prevent further untoward activities in the town. RSS
