11 Dec, Kathmandu: Some lawmakers have today registered a proposal of urgent public importance in the Legislature-Parliament Secretariat demanding that the House discuss the same in the backdrop of the unannounced border blockade imposed by India.

Parliamentarians—Laxman Rajbanshi, Shivalal Thapa and Jaydev Joshi had registered the proposal.

Stating that India has stopped entry of daily essentials including fuel and medicines into the country for the past three months in violation of the transit facility that a landlocked country is entitled to as per the international law, the sponsors of the proposal stated in the proposal mentioning that this action of India was a direct infringement on Nepal’s sovereignty and independency.

They also urged the Parliament to approve the proposal soon after including it in the agenda of the parliament. RSS
