The Sanghiya Limbuwan Party Nepal has called indefinite banda from today in eastern districts demanding the unconditional release of the party cadres who were arrested in course of protest, said Surya Makhim, general secretary at the party.

With banda in effect, daily life of people have been badly affected in the eastern districts.

Vehicles have been stopped and shops and industries have been closed. However, the party has issued a press release and stated that the school and colleges will not be called closed.

Meanwhile, police have arrested some of the party cadres who attacked a local journalist, Krishna Humagain as he was riding a motorbike during the banda.
