2 Nov, Damauli: Three persons died when a motorcycle knocked down a pedestrian and overturned at Eklephaant in Aanbhukhairini rural municipality-2 in Tanahu along the Dumre-Muglin road section on Wednesday evening.

The deceased were identified as Nikesh Singh, 20, and Sabin Adhikari of Kailashpur in Bhaktapur district and Nanumaya Rana, 60, of Chayngling, Palungtar Municipality-1 in Gorkha district, according to the District Police Office, Tanahu.

Among the deceased, two were riding on a motorcycle and another was the pedestrian. Critically injured in the incident, they were rushed to different hospitals where they breathed their last during the treatment.

The incident took place when a Pokhara-bound motorcycle (Ba 38 Pa 5975) coming from Kathmandu hit the pedestrian, said Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police (SP), Sunil Malla.

According to the preliminary investigation, the motorcycle met with an accident as it lost its control due to over speeding. Further investigation into the case was underway after impounding the motorcycle.

The dead bodies of Nanumaya and pillion rider Sabin are kept at the Damauli Hospital for post mortem while motorcyclist Nikesh’s body was about to be brought to his hometown, police said. RSS
