7 Nov, Kathmandu:

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare CP Mainali, has said that Nepal would move ahead with opening of more transit points along its northern border while continuing to work to resume the border points with India.

At a face-to-face programme here today, DPM Mainali added that country will implement new multi-door policy instead of one-door policy depending on India. He further said that previous blockade was only taken by the political parties as it was imposed only against king. However, this incident has been a greater learning experience.

DPM Mainali further shared that the Madhes-centric parties’ agendas were the agenda of border blockade. He added that the diversity would be implemented in transit even for independence and self dignity of the nation.

He further said that India was working to separate the tarai from hill, and mountainous belt aiming to disharmonize the society. A democratic constitution issued by the constituent assembly and it had harmed none, he claimed.

Nepal should review its bilateral relations and support learning from different incidents including blockade. DPM Mainali added that the blockade was inhumane, unlawful and inappropriate as it was imposed without any reason. It is a political intervention due to dissatisfaction on the constitution as it was not issued as per India’s wish.

He concluded that the incumbent government will not let the people bow their head down as the government was centering to make the nation independent by resolving all kinds of challenges. RSS
