Two wild water buffaloes were killed from electrical shock near a paddy field protected from electric wire fence at the periphery of the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve.

The locals had placed electric wires to fence off their paddy field for protection from the straying wild buffaloes from the nearby wildlife reserve. The buffaloes died at Ghoghanpur of Kanchanrup Municipality – 10 in Saptari when trying to enter the field to feed on the paddy.

Reserve’s Conservation Official, Shyam Prasad Sah, and a Nepal Army team went to the incident site to acquire information on the death of the water buffaloes, Koshi Tappu Buffer Zone Management Committee Chairman, Birendra Yadav said. RSS
