31 Aug, Kathmandu: The CPN (UML) Standing Committee meeting has directed its Constituent Assembly (CA) members not to table any kind of amendment proposal on the ‘Revised Bill of Nepal’s Constitution-2072 BS’ without the party’s consent.
A meeting of the Standing Committee held at UML’s parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar stated that the party has made arrangement for the designated person to put forth amendment proposal on the constitutional draft.
The party has said that a decision was made to inform all the CA members representing CPN-UML to that effect.
The meeting ahs also decided to take ahead nationwide campaign for peace and goodwill taking up the sporadic incidents occurring in different parts of the country following the demarcation of provincial boundaries.
UML Secretary and Publicity Department Chief Yogesh Bhattarai said that the party has obtained information regarding the political incidents associated to constitution-making and also analyzed the responses emanating from national and international forces and countries in this connection.
The meeting has condemned the incident of vandalism and arson taking place in different parts of the country in a way to unleash fear and terror among Nepali people.
On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and UML Vice-Chairperson Bamdev Gautam briefed the meeting about the overall security situation of the country while Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey presented concerns of international community including neighbouring countries. RSS
