Preparations for the national conference of the CPN (UML) leaders and cadres to be held at Sauraha in the district have been completed.
The party has called the assembly to discuss current political issues, challenges of implementing the new constitution, ongoing Tarai-protest and to develop future strategy and concrete viewpoint of the party to resolve these issues.
The party district committee has arranged the assembly. The district party chair Jagannath Thapaliya shared that the Prime Minister and party chair KP Sharma Oli will inaugurate the conference at 11:00 am on Monday. Party leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal, Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai among other leaders would arrive here today itself.
A total of 235 delegates including party office bearers, central committee members, lawmakers, district chairs and in-charges of Tarai-based 22 districts will participate in the conference. The conference would end on Tuesday with the Sauraha declaration.
