10 April, Kathmandu: CPN (UML) secretary and party’s Publicity Department chief Yogesh Bhattarai has said that the local poll should be conducted in a single phase.
Speaking in a programme organized by the Press Chautari Nepal, Pratishthan chapter, here today leader Bhattarai stressed on holding local poll on the same date with the participation of all political parties.
He added that the security forces and officials required for election were ready to hold the election in single phase therefore there was no need of either postponing it or holding it in two phases. It was just a trick to postpone the election, he argued.
Leader Bhattarai clarified that UML will not support lately developed constitution amendment bill too, adding that it also had the provision of weakening the local level and is also against the public interest.
He further shared that the party will soon prepare the election manifesto incorporating the policies and programme of development and public needs.
Speaking in the same programme, Chautari chair Ganesh Basnet said that the election was essential to implement the constitution. RSS
