10 July, KATHMANDU: Police from the Central Investigation Bureau seized 35 kilograms of gold and a smuggler from capital this morning. This is the highest amount of gold police have seized so far across the country.
According to DIG Prakash Aryal, the arrested is driver of a van (Ba 3 Kha 2570) Nima Tszering Tamang of Sindhupalchowk district. Aryal said that gold was smuggled from Lhasa by keeping in the container.
The market price of the seized gold is equivalent to Rs 170 million, police said.
