10 April, Kathmandu: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) captain Subarna Awale has been arrested with 93 thousand 600 US Dollars in his possession at 10.45 pm on Sunday at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prem Chand said that Awale was caught with that amount of US Dollars in course of a body search on him while he was proceeding to the tarmac towards the aircraft 229 for the Kathmandu-Dubai flight.
Awale was carrying the amount in his handbag. He has said to the police that he was carrying the US Dollars in order to give to his daughter.
Awale has been sent to the Revenue Office, Harihar Bhawan for further investigation, police said. RSS
