17 May, Kathmandu:

Nepali Congress General Secretary Dr Shashank Koirala has urged the government to sort out the Tarai issues and ongoing capital centred agitation launched by the federal alliance.

At a press conference here today, he said that if there was any genuine issue raised by agitators that should be resolved through talks, however, irrelevant issues that lead to political instability could not be addressed at any cost.

Leader Koirala clarified that his party will not plot to displace the government, however, he said that the government could be formed and displaced through democratic process.

In another note, he said that the local bodies’ election could be held through the consensus among the political parties adding that only more and more elections could strengthen democracy.
