Senior leader of the CPN (UML) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said the UML leadership has failed to maintain transparency in the party.

At a programme organized by the Madan Bhandari Study Centre on ‘Implementation of constitution: building of nation and party’ on the Madan-Ashrit memorial day here Wednesday, leader Nepal accused the party leadership of not paying heed to hold the meetings of the politburos and the central committee, and badly weakening the internal democracy.

All political parties must be united to effectively implement the new constitution.

On the occasion, party secretary Yogesh Bhattarai pointed out the need that party must eliminate the factions and hacks and bring the programmes that win the hearts of people.

Former minister Lalbabu Pandit said the nationality has enfeebled at present. So, unity within the party was essential to resolve national crisis, he stressed.

In the programme, various experts presented papers on party building, economic transformation and communist struggle and way forward.
