2 Jan, Bhaktapur: CPN (UML) senior leader, Jhalanath Khanal, has said that his party would retaliate with determination if the ruling parties tried to push through and table the constitution amendment bill in parliament.

At an interaction organised by CPN (UML) District Publicity Department and Press Chautari Nepal, Bhaktapur, today in connection to mass demonstration to be organised by the opposition parties in Kathmandu on January 6 against the constitution amendment bill, leader Khanal said there would be no amendment to constitution disintegrating the nation.

He said, “We will not allow discussion and passage of the amendment proposal in the parliament as it was brought to make ‘one Madhes one Province’ by splitting the Tarai and hilly parts of Province 5.”

Leader Khanal further said that the ruling parties would be reduced to minnows significantly in coming election if they turn deaf ear to the agitation.

He said that some weakness in the new constitution should be corrected gradually even if the new constitution is of democratic character and added that there was no alternative to implement it as it was the dynamic document. RSS
